A hearing test is a simple, painless assessment designed to understand how well you hear different sounds and speech. Whether your appointment takes place in one of our clinics or in the comfort of your own home, our goal is the same: to provide an accurate picture of your hearing and recommend the most appropriate next steps for your lifestyle.
Hearing tests in our clinic
A clinic appointment provides a quiet, controlled environment where your audiologist can carry out a comprehensive hearing assessment using specialist diagnostic equipment. The entire assessment is comfortable, non-invasive and usually takes around 45–60 minutes.
Your appointment will typically include
- A discussion about your hearing concerns, medical history and daily listening challenges.
- A visual examination of your ears (otoscopy) to check for earwax, infection or any physical issues that may affect your hearing.
- Pure-tone hearing testing, where you'll wear headphones and indicate when you hear a series of tones at different pitches and volumes.
- Speech testing, which helps assess how clearly you understand spoken words in both quiet and more challenging listening situations when appropriate.
- A clear explanation of your results and, if hearing loss is identified, a discussion about the treatment options available.

Hearing tests at home
For many people, having a hearing assessment at home is simply more convenient. It removes the need to travel and allows you to be assessed in a familiar, relaxed environment. A home visit follows virtually the same clinical process as an appointment in our clinic, in most cases, the accuracy of the test depends on the expertise of the audiologist and the quality of the equipment, not the location itself.
What to expect
Before the visit
Your audiologist will call to confirm arrival time and ask about any parking or access requirements. The appointment typically lasts 60–90 minutes.
During the visit
We bring calibrated portable audiometry equipment for a full hearing assessment. The audiologist will discuss your results and recommend options there and then.
Fitting in your home
If hearing aids are recommended, they can be fitted and adjusted in your living room, the place where good hearing matters most.
Aftercare
All hearing aids purchased come with aftercare for the lifetime of the product. Your audiologist can return for follow-up adjustments, or you can visit a clinic at any time.
