Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 19 July 2026

Our commitment

As a service built primarily for people with hearing difficulties, many of whom also experience age-related vision or dexterity changes, accessibility is central to how we design Soundwell, not an afterthought.

Conformance status

We aim for this website to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility. We review the site against these guidelines on an ongoing basis, but we have not commissioned a full, independent WCAG audit, so we describe our status as partially conformant rather than fully certified: most of the site meets this standard, and we are actively working through the rest.

What we do

  • Generous, fluid type sizing designed for readability at any zoom level
  • Large touch targets throughout, including navigation and forms
  • Full keyboard navigation with visible focus states, including a "skip to main content" link at the very start of every page for keyboard and screen reader users
  • Descriptive alt text on meaningful images throughout the site
  • Colour combinations checked for sufficient contrast in both light and dark mode
  • Reduced-motion support for anyone sensitive to animation
  • Every interactive tool includes a text-based path through it, nothing depends on sound alone to be understood

Known limitations

We have not yet carried out formal testing with screen readers or other assistive technology across the whole site, so some pages or interactive components may not yet work as well as they should. If you find something that doesn't work well with the technology you use, please tell us, see "Reporting a problem" below.

Reporting a problem

If you encounter anything on this website that is difficult to use, or if you need information in a different format, please let us know via our Contact page, by emailing if you find the website itself hard to use. We aim to respond within a reasonable time and will do our best to provide the information you need in a way that works for you.

Ongoing work

We continually review the site against WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines and treat accessibility issues as a priority to fix, not a backlog item.
